Great Blue Heron—One of many creatures living in the Great Dismal Swamp

It might not look like much now, but  this is part of the Moses White Sawmill off Rt 158 in Pasquotank County N.C.   Moses white was rumored to have made over $1,000.000.00 here in the Great Swamp from harvesting Juniper timber.   This facility was in operation unti around the 1950’s.
